Air separator

My residential boiler system I have in the house I just bought has the air separator on the supply side of the system. All diagrams I find show it on the return. Do I have to move this to the return side or is it okay to leave it on the supply? It seems to remove air okay.

    Air separator

Should go on the supply. Once you heat the water it was less of a ability to hold the dissolved gases intained in it.Leave it on the supply.
