Can the electrodes be replaced in an oil burner? Just looking for a better price than $600.00 to replace.

    outrageous

You can buy two brand new Beckett AFG burners for that price! Electrodes are usually very inexpensive.

    My Guess

....he has a old or out dated burner and the tech from a oil company is surgesting a needed up grade..$600 is cheap for burner install. Should be around $900 to see any profit...

    I meant just buy

Brand new AFG's are available for about $280, minus the airtube:

And we should all eat dog food and live in tents too. Do you work for free?

    Eat dog food???

I don't expect anyone to work for free! If you are the tech person I shouldn't have to pay 500.00 to repair the initial problem which was the heater would not ignite. Now another 600.00 because the problem was misdiagnosed. Not to mention a week without heat. Do I get to keep the oil pump...since with a new burner I won't need it. I would have rather paid the 600.00 the first time around which would have been a total of 600.00 not 1,100.00 Maybe you have an extra 1,100.00 laying around. I certainly don't. I came here just for information. If I can get it cheaper of course that is what I hope to do. Since I am not in the industry I have no idea how much these things cost. Call my use of this board as sort of a second opinion.
