Thanks Ron,
So I set the high(open) at 130 and it closes again at 120 with no way to adjust the low - is that right?

Question on this particular aquastat regarding low set point/differential: There does not seem to be a settable low - When (at what temp) does the switch close? Example: I set the high at 130degrees - at what temp will the switch close to call for heat?? Thanks

4006A or 4006B ?? One makes on rise one breaks on rise? Which one do you have?

    Bill,
I have the one that breaks on rise - it is on an indirect hot water tank.

L4006A opens on temp. rise, It's opens and shuts the burner when the temp. is reached. L4006B (N/O) makes on temp. drop. (reverse acting) closes to let the burner fire when the temp. falls under your low setting. The A or B on the L4006 makes the difference from N/O or N/C as bill said.
There is also a universal L6006C that can be used in either N/O or N/C so you have to choose the correct one for the application it is applied to..............ROOKIE

    L4006A or B

has a theoretical fixed differential of 10* F. If you want something closer, & want to stay Honeywell, get an L6006A. Adjustable diff from 5-30*. Can also be wired to make on temp rise.

I can't find my Honeywell book, but I looked in Sid Harveys. Some 4006's have an adjustable differential , 5-30°. It depends on the suffix after the 4006 xxxx. Some may have a fixed diff. Sorry I don't have a more accurate answer.
