Picked mine up Tuesday morning. Will use it to backup my Geo and supply heat to a few zones I am adding. Times have changed, I carried this baby down to the basement In my arms, alone, by myself. No stairclimer, pullies, he-man helpers, just me.
Looking forward to firing it up.

This newbie
arrived yesterday. First impressions are great. it is very well crated! Heavy carboard and a wooden skeleton inside the box. Hx looks very Munchkin-ish. All welded however.
Nice metal jacketing with air going directly to the boiler, not inside the cas. Hense no gasketing issues.
More to come as I start installing this weekend.

Chomping at the bit...
I have a KBN210 in the warehouse just waiting to be installed. Tubing is all installed but now I have to wait until the steel goes up.
Don't forget to prime the condensate trap prior to start-up. The float switch circuit (contactors) needs to be closed for it to fire.
I am planning on using some flow-setters on the return port (downstream) on the Caleffi Hydrolink. I have priced Watts-Radiant and they seem kind of spendy, but I am waiting on pricing from Istec's models that are available. Have you used both brands?
I agree that this boiler has all of "The Goods" on a single chassis. I am looking forward to your job pics.
Regards,
PR

HX
Is made by the same company in France that makes Munchkin heat exchangers. Gianvinni (sic) or something like that.
I haven't seen on up close but hope that the local distributor at least gets one in soon to look at.

Neat!
Yet another interesting equipment choice for consumers and installers to consider. I look forward to your report on the unit!0 -
They are a nice little boiler. I'm waiting for the first display to disappear from our counter area under somebody's coat! BTW:Our Lochinvar rep recommended we start stocking some 3" CPVC street 90's so you can install these a little closer to a wall if you have a tight area. You still need to use the short chunk of CPVC after the 90 but it may give you the extra couple of inches if you need it. Might want to mention it to your wholesalers as 3"CPVC 90's aren't too commonly stocked.0 -
As I look at ther intake
air connection, I wonder that a 3X2 heel outlet ell, with a check flapper of sorts, would be a better choice? Seem a condensate drain to prevent and fluid from entering the inducer motor. It could also serve as a "drip leg" as on a gas line to allow any bugs, or solids to fall into?
I also have concerns about the air vent on the header spitting into the inducer motor. Think a small vinyl tube to routed to the base of the cabinet may be a wise idea. ALL air vents leak at some point in the life

How will you pipe it Hot Rod?
I have a 399 and a 210 to install. After going through the Lochinvar plant, I was very, very impressed at their facility and products, but have been waiting for their condensing technology to be scaled-down into a size I could use. The I&O manual shows just a pri-sec piping arrangement. I'm told with it's 5 to one turndown you don't Variable Speed Injection Mixing to achieve outdoor reset. I understand the thinking, but it seems too good to be true. What sayest thou? Kevin0 -

And will you add any additional controls?

If I were
a manufacture of these small condensors... I would look at getting in bed with some Italians Perhaps some Caleffi folks!
I think the Hydrolink is the ideal "piece" of the puzzle. perhaps not large enough for the higher output models but easily handles up to 150K maybe 200,000?
The pipe connections are incrediably tight on this unit. However the press fitting jaws just fit in. I'm looking at some Curvo/ pressfitting connections to the 'Link.
Give me a few more hours to noodle some options

What's the dimension............
What's the actual dimension between the in/out piping. Looks from the pics like the only thing you could get in there with is a Propress fitting or sweat it.0 -
Here is one piping option
Tried to build the Hydrolink as close as possible. I agree with Steve, screw in a pair if press fittings and pipe and crimp away.
