Heating cycle rate for steam

i thought i have read here that my thermostat should be set for 6 cycles per hour for steam. the owners manual for my new honeywell 7400D 5-1-1 programable thermostat seems to recommend a heating cycle rate of 1 for steam. i am assuming that means 1 per hour. it recommends 5 for a regular furnace, 9 for electric and 3 for hot water.
what is the real deal?

6 is for scorched-air
If your steam system responds quickly 3 might work. If not, 1 is correct.
