Heating a basement of existing system 2000

I would like to add heat to a 1000 sq/ft work basement
(warm floor above and basement below grade with insulation on outside of foundation wall). I have an existing system 2000 hot water boiler with 3 zones existing zones. I was thinking of adding a new zone and a ceiling hung modine type hot water heater(18,000 btu). Is it as simple as running a loop to and from heat unit using new zone valve, controls and 3/4 copper. The basement zone would only be used when we are there. Or are there any other ideas to run heat to basement of existing system.
Thank you

    Sounds like a good idea

The digital manager on the Sys2000 can handle up to 5 zones. I would just look at a wall mounted fan coil rather then ceiling, so the heat can rise and pull cold air from the floor.

    zone valves

Make sure to use a Erie or a Honeywell zone valve.
Their energy manager does not work well with typical Taco
zone valves.. Is that heater going to be noisey in your basement?
    Good Luck
