Kevin Pulver emailed me
this picture and was telling me that the DIY'er who was installing the roof trusses didn't brace them.
Mr. Wind decided to pay a little visit and the next morning, Kevin's radiant manifolds were sporting a very nice fall-line up of roof trusses.
Kevin builds his own manifolds, but to my knowledge has not ever been convicted.
Kevin, I know you are out there, what say you?... Looks like you need to start building your manifolds out of Kryponite. Love ya' man.
Might I recommend a high head pump?
Regards,
PR

And I'll bet
he wished he'd used compression fittings instead of crimps.
No offense intended Kevin, but I'm in the (electrical) maint' business, and always look to the future. I don't want anyone, ever, to say that I installed anything that had even the remotest possibility of failing.
It's why I have a problem with any type of "quick-connect-type" fitting, whether it be electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, or water fittings in a permanent setting.
Ford motor Company uses O-ring type fittings on their vehicles' A.C. & fuel systems. I've seen 100's of these
fail.
As HeatBoy is, or was, fond of saying "when they tear that torch out of my cold, dead hands".
Time will tell.
BTW Mr. Singh, you do beautiful work.

Does Siggy's software
tell me how to factor in the extra head I have here?
Yes, I have a heat gun. Now if they only had some electricity. And yes, I always try to make things easy for future maintenance. I figure the next guy might be me! And right now I am wishing that I had used QS20s instead of crimps, although if you're afraid of O-rings the QS20s have 'em and so do the copper press systems.
I have about 4 different kinds of PEX tools, and didn't think the SSC system looked very professional compared to the ProPex fitting. Notice I used ProPex on the 1" supplies. But after I used the SSC once, I thought it looked just fine. I love using it. I'll just have to cut things down an inch or so. I'd bet it will still be faster to do that than to do the QS20s or ProPex either one. Thanks for feeling my pain guys. Kevin0 -
wow! and i thought the nail benders were brutal
on my headers...laying walls on them wasnt enough Huh?
might be able to cut them and stuff the next smaller size he pex thru them and heat that with a heat gun letting the smaller tube reform the interior passage ways ...
