Clow gassteam radiator
Someone gave me a gas steam radiator Fired it up and work but there was a steam leak on valve behind the first section about 4" above the air vent. Tried to take it out but broke apart. There was a spring inside this valve
Question what is this device for. If a pic would help let me know Thanks Billy0 -
Yes, a pic would help
it might be the regulator.
But before you use that thing, check your local codes. Most of these units are unvented, which automatically makes them illegal in some areas including Baltimore due to the carbon monoxide hazard. Then if you hang the curtains too close they can catch fire.

Just the same...
Irregardless (as a friend of mine used to say), I'd love to see a picture of a real live still-existing Clow. I've tried to find one for historical purposes, but around here they appear to be just as rare as the elusive Crosley "IcyBall." Meaning, I've never seen one in person.0 -
You mean
One of these?

If I had the laptop, I'd post the link to the gent that made one a couple of years ago.0 -

I have that link...
I'll see if I can dig it up on my other computer. I asked a friend to weld one up for me... my thinking is a SOLAR powered refrigerator.... use a solar collector (like a solar oven) to heat the one end instead of a flame. Wouldn't work continuously, but during the summer it would be useful on jobs where you want a cold beverage, but might not have access to a refrigerator (I work with a lot of folks that are off the grid). I'll post it if I can find it.
