Boiler cycles?

The stat you have isn't simply an on-off control like say, a Honeywell T-87. In addition to regulating temp and time, it has a program which kinda learns from experience how long it needs to cycle to maintain a set temp. Without being there and having a meter on the system to see exactly what is cycling the boiler on, my guess is that it's the internal program doing it's job-though it could be something else. There is a way to disable this feature-called Smart Response-check the manual.

    Boiler cycles?

Quick question guys. My stat is set to make 72 degrees at 5PM. Today at 4.59PM stat read 71 degrees. Boiler fires from cold at 5PM runs for 20 mins . I check stat and it reads 72 degrees. Yet it's 6PM and boiler continues to cycle 2mins on 1 min off after reaching 72 degrees. Why does'nt it stop cycleing after reaching stat temp.Is there a set amount of cycles in the stat regardless of temp.Stat is honeywell 3600 digital. Thanks Guys Jack
