Can anyone offer their opinion on the Laars Endurance boiler? I've heard some good things about efficiency and relibility, but I'd like to hear from you guys who install and service them. Thanks

    ok

Parts are expensive for these boilers. If you are not familiar with them they can be intimidating to service them. They are quiet, and have a small footprint.
I don't think the design is as robust as other boilers. I service them, but do not install them.

Is there a high limit setting on these things???

Co-worker has one that just keeps climbing higher and higher as long as there is a single zone calling. When there are multiple zones there is no problem.

    Endurance High limit

    Hi Ken,

Yes there is a high limit on this model. It would cut out at about 240°, and require manual reset. It's attached to the supply outlet piping with a spring clip.

I'm wondering if his blower isn't modulating down as the boiler approaches setpoint, that would account for the overshoot on small loads, and seemingly proper operation with larger loads, or domestic water production.

I'm out of the office today (Friday) but have him call me on Monday at 603-335-6300 x 562, and If I can't help him with it, I'll get him in touch with the Northeast Service Manager.

    Sincerely,

    Paul B.
