Utica Whistling

Orifices were checked prior to the ordering and installation of the new burners. I'm going out to the job tomorrow. I suspect a pressure problem.

Replaced burners
We have a Utica boiler M# M125AGB that whistles (LOUDLY) when the burners are lit. The input is correct. Good gas pressure. Burners have been changed. I told my tech to check the inlet pressure upstream of the gas valve. I'm waiting for his reply.
Any ideas?0 -
Partially plugged or wrong orifices?
These can cause whistling. Also make sure the gas isn't burning inside the burner tube.0 -
Whistling
I had a problem with a Utica boiler whistling and changed burners, the gas valve and orifices supplied by a rep to no avail. The only thing that worked was switching to a two-stage gas valve. I never got another call once that was done.

I think you mean a slow opening or step opening valve ... not a 2-stage valve, right? A 2-stage valve would make no sense since there's no way for the valve to be switched from low to high fire or vice versa.
Either way, that wouldn't solve this problem.
Thanks for your input, Anthony.0 -
Possibly --- Boiler is Whistling..
Does the whistling start "immediately" when the burners ignite? Or is there a brief period of time and a whistling noise starts to build? If it starts immediately, it would be burner related.
If there is some time delay involved, check some of the tappings around the boiler such as the pressure relief valve. Could it be a steam related whistle. Just a thought.
