burner tubes on Burnham series 2

if whoever designed them took into consideration that they might have to come out some day for servicing. i'm talking about the ones that have the l shape on the end and has to fit into the femal l shape. What a nightmare trying to get the back in!
the guy before me just rested them in there and they rolled on their side and were firing side wayes. It took me about 45 minutes just to put 2 burner tubes in. Maybe I'm missing something.

Sorry you had a difficult time with the burner tubes, but they really are quite easy to remove and reinstall. depending on the age of the tubes some have a horseshoe shaped connection at the front which drops down over the orifice and others have a hole which may reqire removing the orifice first. Both types have the vertical slot at the rear of the burner base. Best way to remove them is to lift the front up and off the orifice, push the tube into the slot, swing front up and pull it straight out. Reassembly is in reverse procedure. Align the tube into the respective vertical slot, push it in, swing the tube front over and down and pull back on the tube until the horseshoe opening is aligned with the slot on the orifice. Then just push the front down onto the orifice. Hope this helps.

Had a similar problem last week, I think on a Tempstar furnace. Had to hold 5 burner tubes up and in place at the same time (this takes two hands) and mount the bracket underneath them that holds them in place. What a PITA! I don't know why anything is designed to be so unservicable.0 -
yeah..
..they are tough. Every time I have to clean all the sheetrock dust off of them at the end of a job I have some choice words when I'm trying to get them back in. A real time killer. It doesn't pi** me off enough to use different boilers, though ;-)0
