Go Big Red
Wow Bill, really nice install. The turtle wax is a nice touch. Very shiny. Could you tell me what the last pipe on the supply header is? (the one going up) I don't see a circulator there. That header is very nice looking too. Are there any flo checks in the piping? I'll bet the owner is very happy.

Bill, WHY would you hesitate to post those pics???
That is beautiful work. You've got nothing to be ashamed about. Post em and be proud.
Being a B&G rep I'm supprised he didn't get you a B&G PRV and BFP. I personally would put in more Big Red, but our primary supploier only carries portions of the B&G line.0 -
Awesome Job!
Great work Bill.
I am saving all of these pics so I can show my students what I'll expecting from them when they get out in to the field.

B&G isolation flanges! The upper flange ball valve has a built in flow check! COOL! The one on the end goes to a radiant zone and the pump is on the mix valve.
The radiant job was done by my neighbor, Norm, two or three years ago.

Of course
I should have figured that out. But someone should tell Norm that the green flanges are not very color coordinated all things considered!

Today
I replaced the green pump with the red pump today, the owner has order a can of "red" paint from his employer. The green pump was fine, it just didn't match the new ones so to speak

Very nice work. Great attention to detail.0 -
Absolutely ,
Nothing to be ashamed of there Bill. Very nice work! I think you found your niche....(Big smile ) Chris0 -
Excellent Work, Bill!
This is some excellent work to be proud of. As usual, you show an attention to details... The check-trol flanges, the pre-formed header, raceways with plastic clamps holding pipes in the joist bays, etc. ...maximizing the usable space for other uses.
The chimney looks like it used to have a much larger flue than what is currently used... did you have to line it or are the flue gas temperatures coming out of the Vitorond high enough to not warrant further attention?
Does this Vitorond feature a Riello burner? I ask since I don't see the usual "TigerLoop" that comes with the Vitoflame... or the Vitotronic controller... presumably a B&G controller runs this thing?
Looks like a neat workshop in the back too, unless that's your magical tool chest in its unfolded state....
Anyway, there is plenty to be proud of here... congratulations.0 -

You want to move out to Michigan? Anyone who can pipe like that, I can use! That's a very nice job my friend. Great attention to detail and correct piping and valve location will make that system a joy to service for the next 50 years.0 -
Flex hose...
In my amatuer opinion, that flex hose coming off of the filter housing in picture 0668 should be hanging vertical, not horizontal. In other words, there should an elbow pointing down right after the filter housing. This is to releave stress on the swagged fitting.
Otherwise, your work is really incredible!0 -
Glenn is absolutely right
Your work is as good as the best that is showcased here , Bill . I should be ashamed with some of the stuff I post just to try to compete with work like yours . But I keep on postin' !0 -
Bill
Your combination of excellent craftsmanship and top notch equipment reflects credit upon yourself and the heating industry. Great work.
