Depending on the type of expansion tank you may be right it may be installed incorrectly. The relief valve they sent you sounds like its for a water heater not a boiler. Send it back and let them know youre not in the business of making rockets out of heating systems :)

hey David
sounds like you have a relief valve for a water heater not a boiler. The 200,000 Btu rating is ok but your going to want a 30 pound relief so that the valve will open should the pressure exceeds 30 psi. Best Wishes J.Lockard0
