yup the company went over today and changed the extrol 30 ,bleed the loops of air and everything is a-o-k. the tech was not happy of this (but if he would have done his job he would not have to go back). he also said they are know looking at the way they do cleanings. so maybe this was a wake-up call. i've been telling my tech's no short cuts they don't work, take your time and do the job right the first time.

    safety checks on cleanings

my brother lives 100 miles north from me,calls to ask why his relief valve is blowing on his boiler. just had it cleaned by a company there. so i had him check out a few things for me over the phone. the extrol 30 gone and full of water.been blowing all summer so he figured by having it cleaned they would fix the problem at the same time ,well they did not. i called the company today told them who i was and that i've been doing this for 13 years. i asked the owner if they see a bucket under a relief valve if this is a red flagg ,he told me no that they see this all the time. i almost fell out of my chair. i told him it's a good thing the valve was blowing off or the boiler would blow.was told he would call him today and take care of it today.i thanked him and said i would not be happy if i had to make a trip north to fix what they should've. got home tonight call to see if they fixed this and the company never call. sorry just needed to vent!

    Hummmmm...

Ya would think that when the tech. cycled the boiler, which i hope he did that he would see the pressure rising and the darn relief starting to leak and eventually blow......There are some companies that send inexperienced techs. out to basically collect money and really not know what they are doing. I guess word of mouth or a solid reputation co. really pays when it comes to doing the job right.

    Where I work

Where I work if it is a safety issue it gets immediately addressed. If it can wait and we are on a schedule it gets written up for further work.
