Where Moth and Rust Destroy

To use the words Devastating, Destruction and Sad can only scratch the surface of the lives changed by the flooding in Roscoe NY.

For the past week I have been witness to the lives in fear, depression, tears, even curses to describe what happened in and around Roscoe NY.

The oil company I work for sent me from my Oneonta Branch and Home to help in Roscoe for the week. the mess in the streets shocked me, then I went to my first call and walked through water and mud deep enough to fill my shoes thank goodness for boots.

A shop vac, new primary, burner motor, transformer, nozzle then with some rumbling and smoke the Boiler strugled to life again.

As the water heated and a shower was in site for the home owner a small, yet heart felt smile apeared on her face. That small smile was worth more than any money could replace.

The stench of wet sheet rock was present on every street, the piles of "THINGS" bairly destinguisheable was overwhelming. Like the people flooded my life will never be the same, in a much smaller less personal way yet still changed.

To look at the total problem was overwhelming So I made a difference to one at a time. The title of my thread came from the Bible Mathew 6:19 and 20, not to preach however the passage helped me through my tasks. Realizeing what the passage really ment to so many including my self.

If called on to help again, like so many Wallies before me I'll pack a bag and head to the need. Thank you all for your caring and high standard of example you set. Oil Heat truly cares.
