    UFC Fight

I was at cub scout camp with my son, so I missed the fight. You are right, it's time Ken Shamrock becomes a commentator and stays out of the ring.

    Watched the fight

It was the most disapointing pay per view I've seen in a while. All that hype for both the main events and the way they ended. Shamrock did get KO'd though, thats just the way it goes sometims. Even if you do recoup quick, if you get KO'd then its all over. Can't wait till next month for Lidell vs. Babalou, then Lidell vs. Silva ( pride fighting Champ ). UFC is taking over boxing. I'm a diehard boxing fan and sometimes its more entertaining to watch the UFC.

    UFC-WWE ?

I've been a UFC fan from the first one and have never missed a pay per view event. I must say that lately I've been very disappointed with the fights and I believe it's turning into the WWE. Ever since the ultimate fighter show and the new found fan base things have gotten even worse. I tape all the UFC's and this last one was the worst ever. I watched the tape over and over and Shamrock only took one elbow to the chin and it wasn't that heavy and he never was hurt. That fight never should have been stopped that early. Herb Dean is a good ref but this was such a big fight with all the bad blood why wasn't John Mcarthy in there? He has done every big fight or main event since day one. This way they can say it was stopped to early and sell us another fight. I think there pushing scripted fights with big story lines now to generate big money and multiple fights. I've wathched these fighters for along time and lately they are doing things in certain fghts that's out of character. Every fight that Arlovski has been in he has always went for a take down. This fight not one attempt for a take down after he has already beat him with a leg lock. The punches that they were both throwing really did'nt have that much on them and for Silvia to say at the end that "I guess Arlovski found his chin because I coudn't knoock him out" was a joke. There has been alot of bad decisions in fights that have gone the distance lately and they have all gone to fighters that the UFC favors. Zuffa is selling out the fans that built the UFC.

I din't see the fight, but I agree with you in general

Because I have seen many fights stopped too early. That fight with Stephan Bonner and oops I forgot hios name it was a few months ago. tough American dude, bald, fu manch...he kicked Bonnars arse the whole fight and they gave Bonnar the decision becuase he's a Golden boy. Ken
has not adapted his style AT all and that is why he's losing. He's as strong as anyone in there, has knockout power when he lands one, but has let other fighters set the pace of the fight. If I were training him against Tito, he would have sparred hundreds of rounds of stand-up, face busting brawling. If he caught, Tito with 3 shot combo, he'd go down. Alot of these younger guys are very scrappy on the ground, and Ken has lost his grappling domination down there. They're too saavy for his old heel hooks and arm bars. I read that Tito double-legged him quickly...that should of NEVER happend. Ken avoided those with Great wrestlers (Severn) and guys much bigger (Kimo). In any case, I think he should leave his boots on the mat. He had a great run. I can't stand that Mike Goldberg commentator ...he's a jack -a--. does he have ANY background in MMA or is he the producers nephew? I miss Blatnick. Parting shot. Ken has always been a class act. I can't say the same for Tito. Where the heck has Frank Shamrock gone? does he even fight anymore? I miss the Tank. Mad Dog

Are you sure he got ko'd???

I'm hearing otherwise. Yes, it is much more exciting than boxing. Boxing needs some new blood. Mad Dog

    Boxing next generation

Boxing has tons of young blood in the lighter classes. Those guys have stamina and throw punches every round without much hugging. Heavyweight class is dead to me. Most fights are boring and drag on, hugging every chance they get. The last couple heavyweight fights I seen went to distance and ended in a either a draw or split decision.
The heavyweights out to be able to throw leather and have more KO's than we see now. I feel Sam Peters is one of the best in that weight class. He likes to swing and take a guys head off.
On the lighter classes, tons of action happens. Mayweather Jr. can't be stopped. That guy has it all from that rock solid defense to lightning quick hands. I like watching Diego Corrales , Manny Pacman , Arturo Gatti ( warrior ), Kastyzu, Zab Judda, Jose Louis Castillo, Marco Barrera, Erik Morales, Antonio Margarito, the "Golden Boy" Oscar, and list can go on and on. I remember watching Castillo throw over 1500 punches againist Mayweather Jr. and lose by decision.
Back to UFC, yes I also feel its starting to turn into WWE in a way. I'm glad there are weight classes now. I remember fights between 190lb guys taking on 390lb'ers. Tank Abbott is one who I loved watching fight. He would come in half hung over from the night before and come in the Octagon and take a guys head off. He is one who likes to swing for the fences.
Why is it the UFC is already scheduling a fight for Chuck in November for the Championship if he hasn't even fought Babalou set up for August ?

    UFC

I agree that the UFC has changed and it may not be for the best. I think the fights should go till there is a winner. NO JUDGES! The sport is evolving and trying to build fan base and money. Wrong direction with commentators and judges. Hopefully things will get better.

    UFC 61 was disapointing

I have watched about 10 pay per view UFC events. UFC 61 was by the worst, most disapointing one yet.
UFC got very popular, very quickly but it seems like they keep trotting out the same matchups over and over.

I think Ortiz v. Shamrock should have went a little longer, maybe 4-5 more head shots before Shamrock doesnt defend himself since a few of those early shots didnt seem to do much.

Arlovski v. Sivlia just sucked all around. That was the worst fight I have seen to date.
