Your warnings hae been heard. I have advised the buyer not to close on the house until the installer proves that the cause was identified & corrected, and the house alatms are back to sleep.

Was the CO alarm real?
New house with basement power vented hydronic boiler and power vented gas hot water heater turned on for the first time during heavy, humid weather. The house basement CO detector was alarming and showing a memory reading over 240 ppm.
My CO Expert portabe detector was measuring 68 in the basement. Was this really CO or could it have been outgasses from exposed f-g insulation, paint, fresh polyurethane floor finish, etc?0 -

The CO Experts alarm is not fooled by the things you mention as alternatives to actual CO.
I would advise you to find out where that CO came from.
If you are not trained to do so, contact a trained professional immediately. Immediately!
