i think those will burn about 90+ gallons an hour Each.....

i am not saying that the 8000 gallon tank is a Day tank...buh

i would say with a full load on them the 3310 gallons would be gone in short order..full it might make it two days as it takes time to run them up and bring loads on line..

5000 gallons i would consider a day tank ... that is a LOT of KW ....

are these ment to be emergency backup power supply...because if they are...

    Above Ground Deisel Storage

I work at a new facility where they have a 8000 gal. above ground storage tank. They oversized this tank so there is only 3100 gallons of fresh low sulfer deisel in it right now. This tank is only for a couple of 1850 hp generators and will probably not get used up for a couple of years. I was wondering what would be a good additive to put in this tank if any???

    Diesel Anti-fungal additive.

Contact your fuel supplier. They may already have an additive in it.

If there is a major concern about fungus growing in the sitting fuel, you may also want to make sure that you have a parallel fuel filter setup in case you need to change fuel filters while running the engines.

Assuming the tank is vented to the atmosphere, water condensation inside the tank is also a concern.

A pump hooked up to circulate the tank occassionally would probably help.

    Stratefies

Had an armory years back that had oil as a backup to gas the specs called for transfering the oil to a waiting tanker and returning it in order to homogenize it again.

Oil will stratify if not moved periodically.
