Anybody more important than Mom?

Saturday night our youngest daughter Heather asked Mom if it would be alright to make her breakfast in bed on Mothers Day. Mom said that would be nice.

Nancy and I NEVER sleep late. Mother Day @ 7:30 A:M we were still sound asleep when the 10 year old anounces it's breakfast time, everybody up!

Heather made Mom a breakfast fit for a queen. Carnation instant breakfast(not quite mixed enough) and cinnamon toast ( alittle on the chewy side). Best breakfast a mom ever had:).

She then proceeded to go clean the kitchen sink.

Our Heather has a heart of gold.

    The formative years

From birth to leaving home for good (age 19), there was no one more imporatnt than Mom. Thank God she is still around and is still VERY important. Happy Mother's Day to all of the great Moms out there who made caring and loving part of their unwritten job description.

    Have to share this....

In the spirit of honoring moms everywhere.... in any way a child can...

6:35 AM. Susan's kids, Liana and Melissa, ages 11 and 6, come trumpeting in to Susan's bedroom, the one morning to sleep in a bit.

They bring in a plate of "breakfast" consisting of strawberry's and sliced bananas on toothpicks with a bowl of microwaved chocolate chip "dip", a piece of light toast with butter and chocolate dip spread and a cup of lukewarm Swiss Miss because they could not find the "Cocoa Beans". "Coffee beans", they were gently corrected. "Whatever" was the reply.

Then the kids proceeded to eat the plate nearly clean, once asking mom if she wanted any... :) Bouncing on a bed with a plate of sticky sweet stuff makes for the sheets being washed same as they were yesterday....

The room suddenly got quiet as they departed for the TV room for an hour...

The clean kitchen from last night was a disaster... no one seemed to know how to clean up, their work done!

    Sound familiar, anyone?

    Happy Mother's Day, Susan!
