The Perils of Pleasing a Customer...
LOL,,,
I'll think about it. ;)
here's what's usually in my pocket these days, till I lose it. :) Picture's too dark to tell but that's a Klein. Rubber handle. It's been a good knife for a while now.
It's the best thing you'll ever find for reaming that copper pipe we've been talking about.
No, he'll probably be pissed at me but the other one will be a safe queen. Don't tell!

Or...
Be jealous, very jealous...
Over the winter I did a total replacement of this older couple's HVAC. Furnace, evap coil and condenser, the works. The guy, as a hobby, makes all kinds of knives from scratch. He's a machinist and a fellow Navy vet. So today I went there to start and check the A/C. Had to add a couple of pounds. Seems the condenser didn't REALLY have enough freon for the system and 25 ft of lineset like they say. Not unusual. Anyhow as i'm leaving the wife says, "What do I owe you?" I said, "You don't owe me anything, this was included in the original price." The husband says, "Well, here, put this in your pocket." I figured it was a twenty but noooo, it's a little zip up case. See the pics below to see what's inside. FYI, titanium handle, surgical steel blade, closed length 3.75", weighs 1.5 oz Totally hand made. He said he likes to give them to those he know will appreciate them.
MY biggest fear? Losing it!0 -
Nice
If you're really worried about losing it, I could hold onto it for you0 -
It's nice
when a customer gets it, and appreciates a good contractor who will take care of his customers properly. My favorite show of appreciation is a plate of cookies to go. Although I have nothing to show for it 2 blocks away from the job. WW

Agreed,
I have had some real pains in the *** in my day but there's a few good ones out there too. I don't know what it was about yesterday but my first customer, a very devout woman, made note that this was the 14th summer I've serviced her A/C and said, "I think you're overburdened and God told me to write this scripture down for you." So I also got an index card with,uh, let me look, "Matthew 11:28" too. Interesting day, I'm sure my jaw dropped appropriately when I first saw that knife though.0 -
Tip your server, too
I picked up ten bags of mulch and two of top soil yesterday in the "pickup lane" at the HD. The guy working outside was surprised and thankful when I tipped him. He's busting his tail in the hot sun loading those heavy bags all day. It sure saved my back. Don't forget about taking care of those folks, too.0
