Any one know where I can find R values for weird floor coverings. I got one where they are using 1.5" cedar for a subfloor and then 3/4" hardwood over that. I know its not a good idea but I though I'd run it thought a design any way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

cedar is a good insulator!
Cedar is a softwood. According to the Cedar web site it has a R value of 1.0 per inch. According to IBR it has a 1.25R/Inch. Hardwood is .91/inch. Total R-Value is R-2.67 or a U-.375

I concur with Steve
Take it as a softwood at R 1.25 per full (not nominal) inch and go forth....0
