I saw him on the cover of People. All though on that cover he had the drill going forward not reverse.

Good on Ya Dave.

I received my April 30 issue of The News and look who's on the cover - Dave Yates! I haven't had a chance to read the article yet but it will make some good reading tonight. How many different magazines can you be in? Are you trying to corner the market? Congratulations, my friend! -DF

    It's all because of .......

the Carlson-Holohan Industry Award of Excellence. Nominate today & nominate often.

Then again, maybe it was a slow The News day?

    It's a result of

being interested and active I'm sure. Dave always seems to be at the forefront of many issues in our trade. I showed his Watts movie about scalding and legionella to my class. He seemed very at home in front of the camera. Of course it doesn't hurt that he looks like a movie star. (Yoda's a movie star isnt he?) :o (Just kidding) :) WW

    so's

Chewbacca! Then again, we 'won' an authentic rubberized Jabba the Hut complete with oozing (fake) slime. There is hope for those of us a few miles south of movie-star-like-looks(G).

    Anotha covah!

Dave is pure polish n' panache. What a radiant star, that man. But the Lovely Lois is quick to tell you it just ain't so. Apparently, he returned to his seat at a recent formal function and had a toilet paper trailer. Next stop: Dancing With Th' Stars.

    (OK . . . I lied about the trailer)

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Sorry to read on the cover of MSN Weekly that you have to spend those 4 months in Jail with whats-her-name hotel heiress.

    Now wait a cotton-pickin flea-bitten minute!

As Bill Clinton would say - I would not have se... - oh, yes he would!

Four months locked up with Paris??? Good grief man, I'd have to punch a guard or do something to get solitary confinement. As bad as my razors get when Lois uses them to do legs, imagine how dull they'd be after Paris's usage!

Besides which, she's asking Ahnolt to pardon her.

    The Wheel

Gils' Wheel - In the hands of a giver, one becomes a receiver, in the hands of a receiver, one becomes a giver...what goes around comes around – it’s beautiful.

Thanks Dave, for exemplifying the character it takes to be a recipient and guardian of the Carlson- Holohan Industry Award of Excellence.

    No one told me

that Paris was part of the 'award'!

    Just kidding.

All jokes aside, the Wheel of Gil is weighty, but light as a feather too. When I look upon the works that grace this site, I am awed and humbled. When I observe your accomplishments, Dan's and fellow Wallies - I feel as if I'm standing still or, worse yet, sliding backwards. You ALL provide a stiff challenge and set the bar higher than I often think I can reach - yet help pull me over to your side. No doubt many others feel the same tug. Like so many, I too am a moth to the flame of 'what's new' and can't wait to dip my toes in the collective pool of exploration - an expanding experience! I've been lucky to have so many great friends & some with cameras to record mechanical events.

Working with new products - great.

Working with peers - even better.

Working with my son and having that recorded in a picture - priceless. A memory cherished. No matter what course his life's journey takes, he and I were as one that day. He knows my world a bit better & God willing, I'll explore his one day. You should see him lasso a solar panel! I'll attach the pic so's you can.

As for Gil's Wheel? The fun encountered while trying to explain to airline folks what that is and why I must have it as a carry-on is also priceless(G). If you can sell an airline on letting you carry Gil's Wheel on board to stow-away with the stewardesses, you can sell hydronics at the equator!
