Someone started
a post about a quote and it made me remember my favorite quote.
Near me there is the home of John Hammond, considered by many to be the father of remote control. He built a medieval castle to live in.
When he was asked why a man of his knowledge and fore thought would live in a medieval Castle he responce was ..
Live in the past.
Work in the present.
Think in the future.
I've always thought that was great !

He sounds like a smart
and interesting guy. I've had something on my mind, someone told me this week. It's an extension of Murphys Law. It goes, "Before you can do something, You've gotta do something else." WW

No quote, Scott
but thanks for the reminder of the Hammond Mansion. Linda and I discovered it by chance when we spent a weekend on the coast a few years ago.
What a nice suprise. The biggest, though, was the room he had built for guests who had a few to many (watch out Mad Dog). I'll let Scott explain it if he chooses.

From my dad
"Profit is the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people".
It was his way of doing business. He never gaged anything, be it a job, person or something in inventory, based solely on how much income he could earn from it. His equation of profitability included customers as well as employees and some left over to help out the old guy down the street. If there was enough left over to sustain him and his family, well....that was all that was truly needed.0 -
