Heat Loss/Gain Calculations

Sorry! Seems like a good niche market. Most engineers use PC's while many architects and graphic designers use Mac's. Mac has a lot of architectural CAD options for that reason but that has not translated into software for the engineering side, that I know of.

There may be something, I just do not know what it is. Let me know what you find, would you?

I am looking for a new residential/commercial heat loss/gain program. What is out there? Ease of use and broad spectrum of construction are what I am looking for. Any ideas? What do you use? Where can I get it? Thanks for any response......B

    I use Elite CHVAC

They also have a residental program (RHVAC) which is Manual J based, I believe. CHVAC is ASHRAE based and uses both the CLDT and RTS methods, switchable.

For commercial/institutional work at least here in MA, we have to use an ASHRAE-based or recognized algorithm for calculations.

I have heard good things about Wrightsoft including their company management packages, but I have never used them.
