Uponor Actuators

I was just wondering what the normal lifespan of an actuator is for a Northern heating season (4-5 months) radiant job. I'm asking because I had a couple of Uponor "Thermal Actuators" fail on me this past winter, not many for how many I installed, but they were only two years old. I was hoping to get 10 yrs. out of them if not more.
Just looking for some feedback on the actuators you use and how often you have to go back to change one out.

Thanks,
Frank

    Lifespan

We are a Wirsbo distributor. My $.02 ,I would expect a life span between 4-8 years. Obviously, useage cycles are a factor. I think 10yrs for an average would be pushing it a bit.

    Thanks Glen,
Where are you located just so I get an idea of your heating season? I'm in mid state NY so we see a prety long heating season over here.

    Motorized or Thermal?

Some of the motorized actuators had a casting problem with the housing and snapped off at the base ring. If you have motorized actuators call tech services with your date codes to see if these were in the effected batch. 800-321-4739

    Actuator

Middle of Long island, NY. We can UPS it out to you if you want. I am including a graphic of what you probably have - it says new style - uses a thermal wax which is heated to allow the valve to open slowly, 1-2 min typically . I also included a pic of older version actually I believe made by Sparco -which is now part of Honeywell - has a 24V electic motor.
