7\" valve for hydronic system

Sorry I wasn't that specific. It is an OSY valve with the stem cut off. I am aware of the difference between outside diameter and inside diamater. The valve is about 18 feet in the air, but it has a giant 7 stamped on it, so although I am not 100% positive that it is 7" pipe, I am pretty confident. As I said in the original post, I know I can get a welder, but it has kind of turned into a personal conquest to find a 7" valve or fittings.

7\" valve for hydronic system
I recently found a 7" valve leaking on a hydronic system in an old church in NYC. I know how rare 7" pipe is (most of the supply houses in NYC have never even heard of it), but I need a way to replace this valve. The piping coming out of the boiler is currently 5", so I was wondering if anyone knew where I could either find a 7" valve or a reducing fitting so I could install a new 5" valve.
At this point I would prefer suggestions on where I could find these parts (if possible) and not suggestions like hiring a welder or removing all the 7" pipe.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Have you considered fixing the existing one?
What type valve? OS&Y? Gate? Wafer? Globe? Zone?
Not trying to insult anyone, but you are aware that pipe is measured I.D., not O.D., right?
I have never seen 7", but in NYC, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, that, I do know. If it's steel, a welder could be the cheapest and fastest way to solve the problem. Either stick 6" inside and weld in a threaded half-nip, or go to 8" and wear your truss (;-o)0 -
I have seen 7" also 3 1/2" so I am not superised. You can either fix the valve or replace it with a 6".

I am sure you can find one someplace I probably have a few ideas on where. But even if you do find one it has bin on a shelve for so long its probably going to leak also.

I am not sure about the rest of the country, but 3 1/2" pipe is something that we run into enough that it does not suprise us anymore. In fact we have a supply house in NYC that stocks a decent amount of 3 1/2" fittings and pipe. However, they said that 7" (and I think 9") pipe was made for only a short period of time. Apparently you were able to special order 7" valves during that time.

Ebay
I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for and the size designation seems a bit weird, but this and a spool piece (and some re-work), might get you where you're going if you don't find your Rosetta Stone.
