I am trying to determine the max amount of cubic feet of propane that can be moved through a 1/2" OD copper line from the storage tank to the second stage regulator. Not sure at what pressure first stage regulator normaly is set. The run is about twelve feet. Thanks.

PSI
The answer is.... It depends on the pressure of the 1st regulator. You would have to know that number. Those are adjustable, by the way, within a certain range. The higher the pressure, the more CFM you can pass through 1/2 inch pipe......0 -
If the first stage is set at 10 psi
You should be able to feed nearly 2 million btu thru 1/2 inch for 12 feet. It all goes away after the second stage reg; if set at 11 inches WC you would need to jump up to 1 and 1/2 inch (steel) and not exceed 30 feet developed length to maintain that kind of load. (from the 2003 IFGC)0
