We have this old house we need to get a 4" pipe through. It appears to be granite, but I'm not real smart stone guy. Does anyone have any comments to help me get though this? I guess I could call the local core driller as well. Thanks,

You hit it right on the head...call the local core drill guy. Ken, where in Maine are you? We have a very good company in Portland area that does this work, have used them and they are reasonable considering what you would have to do it you did it yourself.

Yes, core drilling is the only real way Gary. Set up time is everything and in this weather, if outside, I have no idea what they do. Inside is a messy affair too but what else can you do?

Granite is tough being less homogenous than concrete so tends to split unless you use a core drill. You will be glad you did.
