Multiple variable speed circ control

I did temp heat at a job a few weeks ago it was a 10,000sqf radiant home I just set the boiler at 140 and let them all run like normal it may averheat some rooms but if only temp heat who cares. But not sure what kind of boiler you are runing or if there is wood floors. We had a mix of everything wood tile slab quick track in the end it will be a 4 temp system. The only thing i did do was the wood floor area I set the flow rates very low and in one part of the home turned that zone off compleatly. My boilers are viessmann so low return temps arent a problem

small snafu. until the computer is up i have my VS VV circs

running on "GO"...while the heat certainly is never a problem,... i would like to get some temporary control over them.

i am considering using a 705=2 and running it to an sr506 ...meaning , instead of using the injection pump feature an the circs as zones..use the vs feature to control a sr506 expandable and let every circ be given a vs signal...anyone try this ever? it is like throwing dice that none of the circs will lock up ,however the system is new and the pipes have been flushed...

it , the 705-2 can handle 2.4 locked rotor circ...so, ...i am thinking that it can run close to 3 007's with no difficulty.

the 00-10 and the HV 00-12 they are another large can of worms,..i could use a cheapo timer and do pulsed injection temporarily however,do any of you have an easier ,quicker solution for variable speed control of the circs temporarily? it would help a group..i am becoming tired of my job as a Human Zone valve when i had only one boiler and one circ driving the system.

Now there are ten circs running..

two on the boilers three in the "field" and the header...*~/:) my shoes are wearing out doing track and field:) thanks.

    i appreciate the thought...

the only minor technicality is, that i would prefer to lower the flow rates in the "field" . at the momment i can unplug them however i do not have the same hydronic solution previously available*~/:) meaning ..it no longer looks like * #1 it looks like * pic#2...

how about a simple globe valve throtle it down

    Weez...VS pump relay?

So, your taking the variable signal from a Wilo pump and using it as the power source to an SR506? Vary the L1 and L2 input into the SR506 so that each pump contact will be "slaved" to the incoming power signal? Each pump contact will then become a variable speed contact? Am I getting this right? Won't the circuitry on the SR506 board be a bit bummed out with this arrangement? Interesting thought, though, as usual with you ;)

where do you have the two Viessmans lashed up at? Would like to come by and take a peeky.

Get some sleep, our -40 nights aren't over yet.

    wow! Rocky! *~/:)

man , since i lost my phone in the snow bank i have managed to get some work done:) only is is ...i no longer have all my speed dial personal phone numbers ..and as you know when you do heating and own a back hoe ...You never Had so many Friends:)..

i came home to ,feed the Kimo, get him some water..let him out for a run.. burn some food..field any readily available heat dilemmas, post this question and beat it back to work...the 12 hour shift thing wellll..breaking up that 24 hr day i was working into 2 12 hr shifts .. seemed to make it easier ...for a while:) now it seems pretty much like i am still working 24 hrs a day :)

i would be habby to have you stop by...we are going to have us a library and school. God willing and the flesh don't give out :) Jim is into starting up his classes again..your buddy who used to teach at the union is into it Roy (Wilber Brothers)said he would maybe teach a class some evening about ventilation and sheet metal..and an engineer stopped in and was digging where i was rolling :) he said he might be having time to trade and convey info :) this could be a Good Thing :) i Know you have set the wheels in motion in a number of directions...if you have a min... the shop is over in Aurora near Johns..go left head down past Vertex fence to Deere street..we are at the end of Deere street ..Bay #2 ...

you might be correct about the board...might Need 120....input...well a tan wire nut might work..:)then again the vv card might take exception to variabke voltage through the supply side..ah well, undermine flow with pulsed injection it is...:)
  • Been there, done that...

I had my one pipe system set up variable speed at one time, but just the main circulator. My partner has wired 2 pumps in parallel on a heat exchanger job (soure and load) it seemed to work well. I agree that the relay needs raw untampered with power. They don't like voltage variations...

Triac relays do have a limit to their ampacity, but I would think that provided you didn't exceed that in combinate VA, you'd be OK.

I think it is the future...

    Everything in modulation :-)

So, Basically what you are saying....

you see a VS Sr506 expandable in Tacos future*~/:)

and they Heard it here first! ...:)
