Vinyl shower pans?

I read that vinyl pans can not handle any sort of "excessive" heat loads.

Do you think that a Wirsbo Quik Trac system would fall under this category if it was below the pan?

  • I sure hope not!

We have more than a few QT under VPL installations. Never had a problem - yet. Have several with electric rad too.

I tend to design for the lowest temp system I can install. Costs more than other installation methods, but grants the best performance, has plenty of wiggle room if the HO's toss in a throw rug, and (I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't experienced this first-hand in my own home) gives the HO's much more aahhhh than the cheap high-temp install methods.

    what is the vinyl?

PVC or EPDM are common materials for liners. Either can handle 140F easily. Typically you would not have in excessive of that right at the liner? There should be specs somewhere for that material you use.
