At the 377th meeting of the Board in Montreal, QC the Board voted in favor of building the fifth CIPH Habitat Home in Montreal in 2008. Spearheaded by the CIPH Quebec Region Board under the leadership of President Pierre Houle (J.U. Houle Ltee) the Board viewed this as a terrific opportunity to build the home to coincide with CIPH's 75th Anniversary celebrations.
"Since 1994, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating members have contributed more than $3.5 million in products and cash to Habitat for Humanity Canada and helped over 500 Habitat families move into simple, decent, affordable homes across Canada. The Board along with CIPH Quebec Region are delighted that the Region has taken the charge to provide a hand up not a hand out," reported CIPH Chairman of the Board Kenneth Webster (Viessmann Manufacturing).
CIPH Habitat homes have also been built in Niagara Falls, Moncton, Winnipeg and the fourth will shortly be under construction in Charlottetown, PEI.
