Granted, this may be none of my business, but....
Tim, if you're going to post something like this and use this privately-owned forum to advertise your paid services and "bump" your old threads to the top periodically as you do, have you ever felt it may be appropriate to at least buy a "Find a Professional" ad?
Couldn't it only help?

I do not post my own
seminars here anymore and have not for several years. This posting for special boiler classes is done to help out the trades people who may visit here and want to get trainng on these boilers. They are priced way below what I normally charge for my seminars simply to insure that if people sign up they show up. The truth be known I do not make any money on them. I do not put my business on Dan's area for professionals as I do not classify myself as one who is involved in the installing of equipment and I am therefore not a professional in the truest sense but offer training services only and do not feel it is appropriate to advertise in that venue.
I do however have permission from the host to post this information here. I will not however post ever again as I do not want to cause him any concern by letting me do something that offends. I am very sorry if I have offended anyone, you have my deepest apologies. I only try to post here and in other sites (Oiltechtalk,HVACProTech and Firedragons sites) to help the trades people who may visit there. It is my policy and has been for sometime to give away a lot of what I could be selling. I do however have to make a living.
Again my deepest aplogy to all who post here if I have offended you. I will be very careful in the future what I post here.0 -
Find a Pro, not find a contractor.
I don't think anyone was "offended", Tim.
I just thought that if you're advertising seminars here, it might be nice to have some information about you included in a link at the bottom of your posts.
...something that lists your qualifications for teaching to the trade.
I think not ever posting again would be a an overreaction.
Perhaps I should be the one apologizing.
I'm terrible at minding my own business lately.

In defense of Timmie Mc Elwain..................................
John, you are a good friend as well as Timmie. Let me make that clear. That being said, having been at The Wall for the last 6 or 7 years, I have seen Timmie - many times over - offer his expert advice. He'll even correspond via email or phone for people who NEVER EVEN WENT TO HIS CLASSES OR BOUGHT ONE OF HIS MANUALS. It is not my business whether Timmie has an ad or not, but I MUST say, he has been a major contributor over the years. I studied at Timmie's School on two occasions and even sent an employee for a week. After taking Timmie's classes there has not been a wiring problem that I could not (eventually) figure out. On top of that, I don't know HOW the man makes any money....he should charge atleast double what he does. Peace guys. Your friend. Mad Dog0 -
