    JOB PICS

This job is for a senior citizen residence on Long Island. The removal was twin 14 section 4500 series Mills boilers. The new boilers are Burnham steel 80 HP each. There are four indirect water heaters, 100 gal each, and five expansion tanks. We cut in valves and Tees all over the place to accomodate a temp boiler in a trailer while the install was going on.

    Nice Work!

I miss those mid size jobs.

The insulation on the piping is really nice. Painting the boiler room is also a great detail.

Great job. Big improvement from what was there last. How are you controling those boilers? Tekmar or some other type of staging control? The insulation makes the job look very clean. Thanks for the pics.

    RE: ABOVE

These three boilers are maintaining 180* for DHW, while the heating side is tempered via a four inch three way valve mixing cooler return with hot supply water. The temperature of the water is controlled by a heat timer set back. We installed a blending pump on each boiler to prevent condensation or shock. Since this was a NY State job, the contract called for painting which we did in hopuse and the insulation was installed by a sub contractor know only as "Gumbs". But I do admit that the paint and insulation do polish up the job. We used Victaulic fittings w/ schd 40 pipe on the header. As you see we used plenty of swing joints. A few fittings were welded near the six inch Air Eliminator Thanks for all your comments. Last week we started 175 HP Scotch Marine steam replacement. I'll be posting when that is completed.

    Beautiful Job, Frankie

Were you in charge of the entire job? I mean, the lighting itself gets an Academy Award. That layout and final installation is as good as we tend to see on our specified jobs but I think yours would have a shorter punchlist... :)

And you call yourself "just a plumber".... Yeah, Right!

The lighting installation was directed by myself. The state wanted more lights, so I gave it to 'em. The header design and material placement was my idea. My boss gives me free reign on these jobs as long as I bring 'em in under budget. BTW, the valve chart that I provided listed 72 valves. [I didn't get all of 'em either] And to Steven, yeah I like my job.

You did this as Public Work?

Dang, Frankie. You put a lot of Lowest Qualified Bidders to shame. The taxpayers should thank you. More should follow your lead. You did great, even to the lighting. Safe and worth showing off too. Impressive.

    Really Nice!!!

I don't do big work like that around here (a heating plant that size would heat most towns around here), but that's really nice work. Not ony do you like your job, it appears you know what you're doing!

Really nice job, Frankie but you already kno that cause your a pro.

One question. The gas piping outside looked like galvy. Do they allow that in NY??????????

    GALV GAS PIPING

Here on Long Island, since time immortal, the local gas utility has mandated that all outside gas piping be galvanized. Now, if you cross that invisible line in the dirt, and cross over from one county to another and wind up on NYC property, AND if you put in galvanized pipe for gas usage, the LAW will come down on you as if you committed the crime of the century. Ahhh the plumbing codes, mis-written by few, ignored by many.
