Two Gorton no.1's or one Gorton and a Hoffman 4A??

is to get the steam to the ends of both mains at about the same time. That's why the 4A should be the second vent on that main. If you use two Gorton #1 vents on the longer main, it will make the longer main heat faster than the shorter one.

One main is approx. 33ft. with 7 rads and the other main is about 39 ft. with six rads. The longer main will eventually get one more rad and so will the shorter one. Steamhead encouraged me to get a gorton no. 1 on the shorter main and a Gorton no.1 with a Hoffman 4a on the longer one. Could I just save a bit more cash and install two no. 1's on the longer main? Unless it stands that the no.1 has more venting capacity than a 4a and the 4a added will create a better balance on both mains than I'll stay with the first recommendation.0 -
Makes complete sense. I was not doubting your expertise, just looking to be more clear is all. Thanks for your input!0
