i have a very small powder room in a cold corner of the home. i was thinking of installing a four foot radiator in the floor joists below just to take the edge off of the cold. i would be running low temp about 140 f since the rest of the addition is staple up. the system would be insulated below with reflective shield below. any body have any experience with this.
thanks

    In the past,...

we have used a number of materials, cast iron bb sounds a little pricy, onix looped in the area works well also, as well as scrap fin, pipe , and just about anything. More of a concern is insulation and drafts...any draft will have a real negative effect. We cut the blue stuff to fit and totally block off the joist space. This can also be done from above on upper level floors with great results, if you don't mind walking on the bare joists, just don't slip, I have found that plumbing is a lot easier than fixing ceilings. And I wouldn't use the reflective stuff, just isn't the same.
