Someone filled the 1 pipe steam boiler with water, glass tube on the side has water all the way to top, don't know how much is in there. We have been usually putting in about an inch each cold day to bring it up to the mark on the tube, but someone has over did it, Will it still work, or do we have to shut down and drain. What would happen if it isn't drained down to the mark on the glass tube? (may be a crazy thought,BUT, could it explode?) can you tell I'm not a steam man? LOL

won't explode but....
it might sound like it will...water hammer will be a problem...just drain it off...However to need to add water each day sounds like you could have a leak somewhere....kpc

Thanks, water back to the mark on the tube, needs a good cleaning, get rid of the dirt and put in new main vent. think he's going to wait for warm weather to do the overhauling.0
