In steam the supply should equal the demand, or load. Now Pros. corect the wood guy if he goes off track. 1 foot of steam would be the amount of steam needed to fill 1 foot sq. of radiation?

One square foot of Equivalent Direct Radiation (E.D.R.)

will emit 240 Btuh when there is 215-degree steam on the inside of the radiator, and 70-degree air on the outside of the radiator. The radiator manufacturer determines the square footage of each radiator, and the output in Btuh will vary depending on steam pressure, room-air temperature, or the temperature of the water, if the radiator is in a hot water system.
    Retired and loving it.
