  • how about

installing a seperate radiant panel for the solar, like a wall or ceiling, and you could run both systems at the same time. You could also use the solar down to about 90 degrees. Bob Gagnon

I've already got the tubing running under one floor of the house so I wouldn't want to add additional heating elements. I'm simply trying to supply the radiant floor loop with boiler and solar heated water but not at the same time and only to the radiant loop not to the rest of the high temp zones.

    re: Logamatic/solar

    Sorry Cheftim,

Been overwhelmed recently. We ran the primary circ for boiler on the output for mix supply circ and turned DHW priority off for circuit 2 as we have solar preheated DHW (need boiler circ to run on a call for hi temp zones and DHW). Now the boiler will fire on reset but if solar is available the heat is not going anywhere so hours run will be cut dramatically depending on size of collector area and storage.

    Best regards,
    Eric
  • it just seems

like your leaving a lot of low temp. BTU'S on the table. late afternooon, early morning, and some of the winter, you might not get your tank above 130. It wouldn't be that hard running pex to heat a bath floor or a floor in your living room. It's also a lot easier to make 90 to 130 degree water, making your panels more efficient. Bob Gagnon
