Just for laughs

Recently, I cleaned out my Garage and found an old hydrotherm 120K btu in the back. For those of you who are not familiar with this little guy, it's guite small. About two and a half feet high by about 1 and a half feet wide.

All in all, I'd say it ways about 120 LBS.

I remeber the day, I changed out that boiler for someone. I decided to take it back to my shop to use as an experimental model for a project I was working on. So, after i yanked it out, I put it on a hand truck, pulled it up the stairs, down the driveway, into my van and then when I got back home, I pulled it out of the van, on to the hand truck and into the garage.

A few years later, I put it on a handtruck and brought it to the curb for pickup on "Heavy" Day. At about 9:30 AM, I heard a monsterous truck reving in front of my home and when I peaked through the windows, there were Three Sanitation workers looking at the little boiler and all three were talking on the cellphones.

I thought to myself, either I am in big trouble or they are trying to sell the boiler to someone before they have to pivk it up and put it in the truck.

After about ten minutes, another truck arrives on the scene and a couple of guys hop out and start tp place cones in the street, closing off the front of my home!

Okay, now I know I'm in trouble. These knuckleheads think this thing is a nuclear dirty bomb or something and any moment I can expect the Feds to come breaking down my door. I can almost hear the helcopters in the distance, when all of a sudden, this gigantic rumbling noise comes closer and closer to my home.

No I said to myself, this can't be. Not all this for that little boiler, that little "Almost Toaster Sized" Contraption!

Yes, it was true, it took Five Guys, Closing the Street, and at last a Bull Dozer to pick up that boiler and Toss it in the back of the Dump Truck!

So fellow Boiler Men, next time you "Toss" a boiler at for Pickup, think of all the Tax Payers Dollars you are about to waste!

This is a True Story!
