Thinking about tomorrow

for classes at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology - starting tomorrow. As I'm wraping up my notes and exercises, it occurs to me that I knew a whole lot more on my first night of trades-related class than I do tonight - 35 years later.

It's all your faults, you know. If I'd never come here, I'd be smarter. If I'd never met Siggy, well - I'd be an Einstein! Next time round, I'm not gonna crack a single book, listen to any new ideas or attend any seminars, conventions or certifications. Stay home, lock the door and watch Jerry's smack-down re-runs. I'll be smarter than a whip, I will(G).

As Missy would say: I'm going in tomorrow.

PS - I'll be sending them here and to RB's and the RPA sites. I'd ask you to be gentle, but I've seen how you are(G). Milne - behave (nahbah)!

    Hey Gran-Pah,

Ain't it great ? The more you know...the less you know! Quite a conundrum that was put in perspective to me, by our esteemed host. (and I quote) " The day you should STOP learning...is the day they plant you in the ground". Nuff said?

Keep paying it forward. It comes back in SPADES!!! Chris

    Music

As the song goes- "The more I know, the less I understand"

As I age it gets more true every day.

    The Wizard of Westwood...

John Wooden put it best --

"It's what you learn after you know it all that counts."

Are you going to teach injection mixing?

  • I'd pay...

for the opportunity to be a fly on the wall of that class room...

You'll do GREAT, and the industry will be stronger because of it. Thank you for paying it forward.

Back to my kids .... My son asked me how much longer he had to go to school. I said if your smart .... The Rest Of Your Life. I told him I still go to classes and school. Last week we had the first of hopefully many traiing seminairs at the new office room.

You'll do great Dave and I promise to be nice. Just remember, give em alittle humor and they'll remember it alot more.

I second ME's Fly on the Wall Comment. GrandPAH...

When I taught at Boston Architectural Center, first semester was 15-16 students. Next semester I was told that it was popular and that it was increased to 25 -but I could add more if I could handle the load (what did I know?)

Two weeks later I had 52 -Fifty Two- students which meant:

    52 proofreaders, 52 finals, 52 questions (squared).

Keeps one humble but I would not trade that experience for anything.

Any chance you could make a video, even a segment, so we could see you in action? Might there be an AV department that could do that? Not to add to the burden, professor!

    That

memory never fails to bring a smile and chuckle. The BEST seminar ever given that I've attended - JB's descriptive description of IP. My side hurt for a month - then again, that might have been the cheap shot Wes took on the track!

I do have a skit in mind that's similar - if I get the nerve and have the time.

Would you please have someone call my secretary Mary (717-843-4920) today regarding some pieces/parts we're trying to obtain for a job-in-progress.

    Thanks!
