The difference between the 80% unit and the 94.5% unit is 14.5%. (94.5 - 80 = 14.5)
The increase in % of the efficiency between the 80% unit and the 94.5% unit is 18.125%. (94.5 - 80 = 14.5 / 14.5 divided by 80 = 18.125)
Hope this helps.

which % increase
A question I have had pros answer both ways. Is a 94.5% unit 14.5% more efficient than a 80% unit. Or is it the % difference between 80% vs 94.5% making it a 18% difference in efficiency between an 80% unit vs 94.5% unit. Lennox just told me 18%.0 -
And
If you are looking at a two stage model with a variable speed blower, (sounds like you're looking at a scorched air furnace) the difference will be a little greater than the actual percentage, from my experience.0
