    Kinda hijacked another post....

so I thought I'd post more pics and reply to questions an a sep. thread.
This is a new install in a exec. office building for a local bank. The building is 18,000+ sq. ft. Three Ultra 155's, a Tekmar 265 to run the boilers. 18 pumps for heat, 1 for snow melt and 1 for DHW, just made the 20 limit for daisy chaining the Taco EXP's.
All the transformers are to run the Wirsbo zone valves, somewhere over 100, lost count exactly..... they run to over 4,000 Wirsbo heat plates, with a few miles of tubing...
The eff. of this system has been amazing so far... the max. water temp. is 100* and we have had temps. below 0*.... even at that the boilers are often running at only 25 to 35%. At 20-30* most of the time one or two boilers are running at min. fire.
I would love to take all the credit for this job, but my son who fell off the wagon and got really messed up last winter, came back this summer and built this system.... what a way to get back at it!!! I helped him get the vision and lay out the basic plan and he took it from there. What a wonderful feeling when you can both see the same (picture) in your minds eye before it is even created yet! Not bad for 26 years old.....
Started this building in July and they moved in this past weekend, did all the heating, A/C, and plumbing, which is all Wirsbo Aquapex, six bathrooms, two kitchens, and not one leak!!!

job. Congrats to the both of you. The Dead Man sticker tops it off. This should be a standard of construction for commercial enterprises.

    Wow Floyd!!!

That makes the Ultra install I am finishing up lool like tidily winks.

One question, where did you get the manifold boxes from? Are they a Wirsbo accesory or from somebody else. I have a couple of jobs I could have used a box like that for.

    They are Wirsbo,

Part # A2603524, A2603530, and A263539. They work real well but check your fit on the cover, you actually have to drywall up from the bottom a bit to make the cover fit right. I used them on the ceilings to hold them manifolds for the floors above also. Theyu also had plenty of room in them to hold the relay boards for the zone valves.

    Thank you so much Floyd.

I will have to call my Wirsbo supplier about getting these boxes for the future. I've actually got a house right now that should be getting the floor poured for the garage radiant, and I would love to recess the manifold in one of those boxes this time.

I have a question. I thought that the Wirsbo plastic fittings were approved for domestic water only.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

    You may be right...

never thought about it. Was never questioned on it by the inspectors... not too worried about it, as the water temp. is only running at 100* I will check it out for the future though.

    Thanks!!

    Initially they were not....,.

....something about a concern for the O2 barrier stretching, and damaging the tube when you expand it.

Tests have proved otherwise, and they are now approved for HePex, as well as Aquapex.

    Which control?

Which control did you go with to control multiple modulating boilers?

    The Tekmar 265....

will interface with the Ultra boiler. You have to add the Am-4 module to the boiler and reprogram the control module in the boiler. Once you get the hang of it and if you have the PC interface, it all goes rather painlessly. I chose to run the boilers parrellel so that they all ramp up together. The control will automatically sequence and rotate the boilers also.
