From all appearances the weather service is planning on discontinuing that site.

<A HREF="http://www.weather.gov/view/states.php
">NOAA State Data</A>

Here is a page that will lead you to all kinds of info including degree days by state (Under climate on the list.)

    Also

If I'm not mistaken you can also get this info for your area from your local fuel company. A.D.D. for any past 2 monthe should also appear on your fuel bill.

    Degree Days

    1. Go to Weather Underground,

    2. Type zip code of interest into box at upper left and hit enter,

    3. Scroll down to "History & Almanac" box and click on "Go" for "Detailed History and Climate" (date doesn't matter yet),

    4. Select from "Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Custom",

    5. Choose your date range, etc.

Cannot vouch for accuracy of this website, but it has been convenient.

    Hope this is useful.

    On closer inspection

It seems Weather Underground uses only the simplest method of estimating Degree Days--calculated from extreme temperatures, and apparently, not very accurate.
