Hydro-therm condensing boiler
Hydro-therm has one out now too. Made by NY Thermal but different stainless cover. All the bells and whistles as a Trinity and it comes either in floor-mount version or wall-mount.GX series.0 -
Thanks Ike
It looks like a very well thought out boiler. I'm looking forward to more info.

Ike, I sure would like to learn more about it. Let us know when the I&O manual becomes available. I am familiar with "other" condensing units and would like to learn more about the specifics of the unit.
In particular I would like to see about the wiring of both boiler and system pump (I assume a significant pressure drop and primary/secondary piping is needed). But there are many other things I would like to find out.
Inquiring minds want to know!0 -
Wiring and Pumping
Bob,
The I&O is still a couple of weeks away. I will post a download link here when it is complete.
As for the pump and wiring, we are providing (3) pump connections. One for the boiler, one for the system pump and, one for DHWP. The pumps do not require a second power source. The boiler power connection also provides the pump(s) power.
The boilers will come from the factory utilizing Grundfos three speed pumps up to 210kbtu. The 285kbtu uses a single speed up26-64.
All pumps provided are designed to obtain a 35 degree delta with 20 eq. ft. of boiler piping and the heatexchanger.
We are hosting a tech school on this product Sept. 9th. here in Nashville.

very interesting. I look forward to learning more. How can we sign-up for the tech training for Sept. 9th?0 -
BTW....
How can a boiler be new... if it is already produced by someone else?0 -
Follow up
I am registered to go to the Installation & Service School at Lochinvar for this new boiler. (Sept 9th in Lebanon)
It was interesting to me to follow this thread that Ike originated in that it was usually a post or two below the "condensing boiler" thread which had multiple issues about "American Made" or "Euro-Made" and the technologies behind them. It became rather "Heated" at times, no pun intended, so I thought it was an interesting thread to watch.
It was even more intriguing that this thread did not get more play than it did. Here is an American company with a new condensing boiler. IMHO, it looks pretty well thought out and I am going to research it further by going to the school for it.
Any other input out there?

PR

Need to see it in person, I suppose
First impression.... I'd prefer the flue exisit the top or side like the intake air. it sure is nice to wall mount without having to accomodate a rear exit flue.
Nice looking enclosure, hopefully it has a better seal (gasket) than the others currently out there.
I like the "included" lp conversion kit, and the choice of circulators
Tell me about the HX. Your design? Down, up, or sideways fired?

More than anything...
... it'll be insteresting to hear your feedback about the boiler and how it is constructed, what makes it different, what makes it compelling above and beyond what the market is already offering.0
