Pre Piped Panels

some panels in a Watts Radiant catalog. It's a 2002 catolog so I don't know if they are still availible or what the price is. I imagine it's been hard keeping prices under control with the Run on steel and copper hat we;ve seen. I don't begrudge Danfoss or anyone else for raising their prices. It's my bad for not checking first and having old reference materials at hand. That being said it also seems to me there may be a market for a smaller simpler panel aimed at the small addition market. WW

    Another conundrum

I do a lot of radiant floor heating systems in additions and sun rooms. A typical system is 12,000 btu's or lower. There is usually gas forced air in the existing house so the only options are adding a seperate water heater or using a flat plate to draw heat from the existing water heater. I have been making my own HX panels using flat plate and circs but, because of time constraints I recently figured 2 upcoming jobs on Danfoss pre piped panels with primay circ, heat exchanger and system circ. Unfortunately my info and pricing books were dated and the panels have been doubled in price. Yikes! I can make my own no problem. They won't be as nice as the Canadians wares but I was wondering if there are other companys that do the panels thing that are simpler in design and maybe targeted to the smaller system like many of mine. Any other solutions to the small sized system are welcome also. WW

    The Wirsbo panels

are aimed at the larger systems. The Taco Mix Blocks do not have a heat exchanger so the system water can't be seperated from the potable water heater water. Thanks for trying though. :) WW

It's my understanding that Taco's Radiant Mixing Bloc will soon be available with a heat exchanger. The X-Bloc is what they're gonna call it. Might fit right for some of your smaller systems.

I'm a little South of Wayco

And that sounds good to me, too.

I've had to build up my panels too. Keep me posted!

    Hydronex panels

are in the current Watts Radiant catalog, or online. Just about every component in them is sourced from a Watts Industries sister companies. Prices and availability should be very competitive.

Actually you can build and price the panels, including weight and shipping date, at www.wattsradiant.com

Thank you, for considering using the Taco products. Wirsbo, is a good choice for pre-piped panels, and they use Taco pumps. Alternatively, the RMB-1 is a good candidate to facilitate the piping for your Radiant applications. For your reference I have attached the instruction sheet for the RMB-1. If you require additional information, you can visit www.taco-hvac.com . Incidentally, The RMB-1 or the X-block, will be available in September with an integral flat plate heat exchanger, to help prevent legionnaires disease, when heating your home with domestic water. The new X-block will give you the total separation between the heat loop water, and domestic.
