kickspace heater

I am planning to correct the installation of a kickspace heater on my single loop HW system. It was plumbed with the full flow going through it. I am pretty sure that was causing my system flow rate to drop too low, and I could barely get enough heat out of it to warm my house last winter. Other than that the loop is long, but well within the usual maximum length. I also noted that the temperature difference between supply and return was too large (40 degrees or more). From this I reasoned that the flow must be restricted.
I am going to connect it with monoflo tee(s). I understand that one on the exit is generally ok (it is above the supply loop) but I have not heard anything regarding the spacing of the tees, any suggestions? The pipes from the heater are only a few inches apart. Should I use 2 monoflos and close spacing, or one and extend it? I was leaning towards using 2 but I figured I would check here first.

    toe heaters install

We always install two tees spaces 18" apart and never a problem, as long as the loop in 3/4" pipe and is relatively short with a small amount of baseboard. Those little rascals have a high head through them and full flow set-up won't cut it. You were right in your assessment. Use 2

    Mono-Flow & kickspace blowers,,,

A couple of days ago this came up. The resultant outcome was that I hooked up with an old friend I haven't seen for over 10 years. The Wall is a wonderfull place. Thanks Dan for having me. More important than learning about hydronics is that sometimes something special happens here. This is the second time I have met up with an old friend here at The Wall.

Here's the link for monoflow-kickspace from last week.

Sometimes it pays to use the search button here on the Wall (use key words). Truely amazing what you will find here.

    yup

I saw that thread, but it didn't go into the spacing between the tees, which is why I asked about that specifically. So it sounds like I should work out at least 18 inches or so no matter what, and I'll have to decide whether to risk running one. I would rather not fill the system and find out that I should have put in 2..
It is a relatively large loop, I cant quote the length off the top of my head, but I know it is around the upper limits of a single loop. In fact I also thought about splitting it because it wouldn't be all that difficult.
