Perhaps Johnstone would consider carrying the Timmie Books.

Johnstone University
I've been reviewing some really very good PC based interactive gas ignition training from Johnstone Supply in cahoots with Robertshaw. If you buy from Johnstone it's worth a look, not perfect sure but a good reinforcement for spark ignition troubleshooting. I've got module 5 in now, featuring the Robertshaw 712 system. Not a substitute for Timmies classes but a nice review. If anyone has another source I'd appreciate a comment.0 -
Dale how does one
go about purchasing or obtaining this material? It is good to know that Robertshaw is back doing some training as they pretty much for the last few years did nothing. They used to have some excellent training videos and materials on older controls for ranges, water heaters and heating.

Robertshaw/Johnstone
Hello Timmie, Johnstone supply is one of our suppliers so we attend alot of their sponsored training and can get materials. The program is called "Johnstone University" and besides Robertshaw, Rheem also was part of the project. The "Trouble shooting spark Ignition systems" that I was looking at is module 5. So, to find out more or get this you would need to go through Johnstone. I'll contact them and edit this with more details. Our shop supply person deals with them and he isn't here at the moment. Later, Just checked the website after getting our #. At johnstonesupply.com select browse for johnstone university the folder is under maintenance supplies folder, the cost for the programs on CD is about $26. Hope this helps.0 -
What does
Politically Correct have to do with gas training
(PC) get it, huh, get it?
Sorry, that's all the funnier I can get right now. (G)0 -
I have been in contact
with Johnstone Supply in the past and they had very little interest in any type of gas control trainng. Of course I have also been in touch with many others who also have very little interest in gas training. They are much more interested in training on product, installation and sales. The exception to that has been Honeywell.
I have e-mailed Johnstone in regard to my interest in their "Johnstone University" program. I will let you know if any interest is forth coming.
Thanks Jim Lockard concerning my books, we have been doing pretty well with sales. I am still working on the next book "Circuitry and Troubleshooting" it seems like I never can find time to just sit down and write.0
