Taco 00 Circulator O-Ring or Gasket

I prefer the black rubber full flange gasket. The red rubber tends to harden and crack over time which make it near impossible to remove.

Why am I not a fan of the O ring type gaskets?
I've never had a black rubber fullflange gasket leak, but I have seen many of the O ring type do so.

I think they cost around $1.00 and I see it as a good investment.

Taco 00 Circulator O-Ring or Gasket/Which do you prefer.

The Taco 00 circulator comes with 2 O-rings as most of us know. Many oil repair people replace those with the flat red gaskets when there is a leak at the flange. I prefer to clean out the old O-ring and install new Taco O-rings. Can I get people's preferences and why?

We use both the taco black o rings and the red rubber full flange gaskets. Just a little added protection.
