We switched.....
A couple years back we switched to Baso /Husky thermocouples. They seem to last a lot longer than the Honeywells did, but won't fit every pilot assembly.(They're kind of thick in the trunk)
I've kept some Honeywells on hand along with the White Rogers thin thermocouples
Make sure it isn't the pilot flame beating these things into submission! The books explain fairly well how the flame should strike them, and I've found some that were being pumelled by a pilot that was just too big and making them soot up a bit.Soot is a great insulator, and will easily make them overheat.
BTW, Timmie has a great book on how to troubleshoot and rectify thermocouple problems. I highly suggest you check with him and make it a part of your library. Chris0
